Free Keyword Density Checker Tool
There are several Keyword Density tools online, but I needed one that could check either a URL or a body of text… and here it is!
UPDATE: Keyword density is no longer considered important UNLESS your content is over-optimized, in which case you should aim to reduce the overall percentage of keywords used.
Short Version: Write naturally, don’t stuff keywords and don’t waste time looking for a “perfect % density”.
Use this tool to quickly and easily determine the keyword density for a specific URL or article.
Keyword density is all about a healthy balance, you should include your targeted keyword naturally in the content for both the reader and search engines, but don’t overdo it. Aim for a density between 1-3% and move on.
Another quick way to check is to review your content with a critical eye. If it reads unnaturally due to excessive usage of a particular keyword then you should probably tone it down. Your readers will thank you.
Note: This tool does not calculate the Keyword Density of a URL and text input combined.
